Plumbers Are Essential Businesses

On March 19, 2020, Governor Newsom issued Executive Order N-33-20 directing all California residents to immediately heed current State public health directives to stay home. Some businesses have been deemed essential businesses during this time in order to maintain continuity of operations of essential critical infrastructure sectors and additional sectors to protect the health and well-being of all Californians. You should know that plumbers are considered essential businesses.

In accordance with this order, the State Public Health Officer has designated the following list of
“Essential Critical Infrastructure Workers” including, “Workers such as plumbers, electricians, exterminators, and other service providers who provide services that are necessary to maintaining the safety, sanitation, and essential operation of residences”.

Where Are We Operating?

This means the Benjamin Franklin Plumbing will remain open during the Shelter in Place period. We are currently servicing our entire service area from Napa and Sonoma through Marin County, to San Francisco and the Peninsula in addition to San Jose, Concord, Oakland and the entire East Bay region. If you are in the San Francisco Bay Area and you have a plumbing problem, we are here to serve you.

Safety Precautions

If we are needed at your home, know that the health and safety of our customers and employees is our greatest concern. That is why we have implemented the following procedures recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

We have instructed our employees to take these precautions:
• Stay home if they are sick.
• Greet others in ways other than hand-shaking.
• Minimize the risk of infection by conscientious handwashing and sneezing/coughing into a sleeve or tissue.

We have also hung hand-washing posters throughout our offices to remind our employees of how important this simple procedure is to prevent the spread of coronavirus.

We also ask that you, our customer, inform us immediately if someone in your home becomes sick. If you feel you need to cancel your service appointment due to illness, please let us know and rest assured that we will welcome you back when you are ready.

We encourage anyone with questions or concerns on this issue to contact our office directly. We are proud that plumbers are essential businesses and we are standing by to help.

Thank You.
